Before April 20, 2025, did any public document describe the complete combination of:

persistent internal 3D scene representation + visual thought / imagination + visual memory + mental simulation + contradiction detection + belief revision + reflective action/update loop

that appears in the NMCA blueprint?

Individual technologies such as 3D mapping, world models, POMDPs, SLAM, and embodied memory clearly existed earlier. That is not the question. The question is whether the integrated architecture itself had already been publicly specified.

What the April 20, 2025 disclosure actually contains

The 46-page NMCA blueprint does not merely propose storing a 3D map. It describes a persistent internal spatial model used as part of thought, simulation, memory, planning, contradiction detection, and cognitive updating.

Concrete example given in the original document: an agent loads a remembered location (refrigerator), internally simulates the route and interaction needed to retrieve a banana, executes the plan, discovers the refrigerator is empty, and generates a new subgoal.

Closest pre-April 20 predecessor identified

3D-Mem (November 2024) is the strongest genuine predecessor found so far. It describes persistent 3D scene memory, visual memory snapshots, frontier/unexplored regions, and embodied spatial reasoning.

It is real prior art for 3D scene memory and must be acknowledged.

It does not, however, describe the complete NMCA combination: internal visual thought → mental simulation → action → sensory contradiction → belief revision → reflective update.

3D-Mem therefore supports the existence of persistent 3D memory for embodied agents. It does not anticipate the full architecture disclosed on April 20, 2025.

Why separate ingredients do not defeat the combination

POMDPs supply mathematics for uncertainty. SLAM supplies spatial mapping. World models supply prediction. 3D-Mem supplies persistent scene memory. ConceptGraphs, RoboDreamer, KARMA, Embodied-RAG and related systems supply additional pieces.

Finding those pieces separately does not establish that any single pre-April-20 public document already described the integrated architecture that treats a persistent internal 3D/visual scene as the substrate of thought, tightly coupled to memory, simulation, contradiction handling, belief revision, and reflective updating.

That distinction is the entire point of this investigation.

Current conclusion

As of the sources examined, the April 20, 2025 NMCA disclosure is the earliest public document identified that describes this particular unified combination.

Significant earlier work exists on individual components. 3D-Mem is the closest predecessor for persistent 3D scene memory. No pre-April-20 public document containing the complete architectural combination has been identified.

This conclusion will be updated if an earlier document containing the full combination is found. Until then, the chronological priority of the April 20, 2025 disclosure stands on the public record.

Relation to later work

3D-Belief (submitted May 12, 2026) and several other 2025–2026 papers describe related capabilities: persistent 3D scene memory, multi-hypothesis imagination of unobserved regions, sequential belief updating, and mental simulation for planning.

Those later systems can be compared directly against the April 20, 2025 disclosure. The existence of older mathematical frameworks or partial predecessors does not erase the chronological fact of what was publicly specified on that date.
